Don't Save Me

2.png

In 'Don't Save Me', which is personally my favorite song, Willow talks about learning to fight her own battles in the big world and how she doesn't need saving.

For this look I wanted to create a statement piece that summarizes the theme of the song. The cargo pants have grommets and chains that connect at the knee. This is a representation of how chains create structure and support but they can also be a way to hold something or someone down. This cargo can be worn functionally as pants or shorts once the chains are detached. This is a metaphor of breaking free from your struggles. For the sheer overlay I used grey chiffon, and for the purple hand-knitted top, I used hand-dyed alpaca wool/silk yarn.
